Endless Love - Glee Cast - Will and Rachel

As soon as I heard Mr. Shue hit the first note on Endless Love, I melted. Anyone would be mesmerized at this Glee version of the Diana Ross classic. Rachel melted too, anyone could tell..including Mr. Shue! In this episode, watch the coach as he struggles with the infatuation that Rachel is starting to develop towards him.

I have always loved Glee's ballad renditions and remakes. But this one is DEFINITELY a favorite! Listen to the song below.

Somebody to Love - Glee Cast - Rachel, Finn, Mercedes, Artie

Another great song that the Glee cast did a cover on is Somebody to Love which was originally done by Queen. They sang this as a closing of season 1 episode 5, when April got kicked out for being a drunkard still. Rachel went in at the end of the act to replace for April and gets back on the team.

A few others have covered this song before Glee. I particularly remember Anne Hathaway doing a great job singing it in the movie Ella Enchanted.

But it's different when you see New Directions do a must-be Queen classic.

Listen to the track below or buy the music to keep it on your iPod.

Glee Season 1 Episode 5 - The Rhodes Not Taken

Since Rachel quit, the club has been struggling to find their new female lead. Will finds a temporary solution by getting an old (and I do mean 'ancient') student who wasn't able to graduate from high school to get to join the Glee club to be their female lead. She was actually with the Glee Club before so handling solos was a breeze for her. There were two teeny tiny problems though...she's kinda old, and she's a drunkard.

Will struggles between the fact that he has got to get glee a great female lead...and the fact that his newfound lead is a bad influence to his kids and other kids around school.

Watch the struggle for stardom in the Season 1 Episode 5 of Glee - The Rhodes Not Taken.

Single Ladies - Glee Cast

It is in the Season 1 Episode 4 of Glee that Kurt gets his groove on by dancing to Single Ladies with Brittany and Tina in back-up. See video below or you can download the Glee Preggers Episode (S01E04) here

Glee Season 1 Episode 4 - Preggers

In Glee Season 1 Episode 4, Quinn finds out she's pregnant...hence, the episode title - Preggers. On the other hand, somebody else finds out that she isn't pregnant...and turns to Quinn to help realize her desperate plans of having a baby. Oooh...so much drama!

But it isn't all drama, though. The football team, with Finn as quarterback, wins their game with the other school. They learn a very important lesson. You're gonna see some dancing football jocks on this one, guys! And not only that...they dance to a very...VERY lady-ish song. You gotta check that out!

Kurt also struggles to get out of his box as his rendition of Single Ladies is cut by his Dad mid-song. He wishes he could just be free and be as openly gay as he possibly could. See the entire episode to see that part of the drama between Kurt and his dad.

Oh and one last drama - Rachel Berry quit! Watch to find out why.

Glee Season 1 Episode 3 - Acafellas

In the third episode of season 1 for Glee, Mr. Scheuster gets down with a couple of his friends to form a boy band named Acafellas. It all started when they got together for snacks and found out hey have common self-esteem issues. Forming a boy band did a lot in boosting their confidence.
Watch the girls go gaga over Scheuster and his fellow Acafellas buddies in this third episode. Check out the links below to download the entire Acafellas.

Sue Sylvester punchline of the week - "This is the what we call a total disaster, ladies. I'm going to ask you to smell your armpits - that's the smell of failure! And it's stinking up my office."

Here's another quote from this Glee Season 1 Episode 3 that I particularly like: "When you really believe in yourself, you don't have to bring other people down." It was what Quinn Fabray told Coach Sylvester after the armpits punchline.

Say A Little Prayer - Glee Cast

It was also in the Showmance episode that Say A Little Prayer was sung by Diana Agron a.k.a Quinn Fabray, backed by Santana and Brittany as their audition piece in joining the Glee club. I found the rendition nice. Very "cheery" as the three who performed it were cheerleaders.

See the Youtube video below for the song. Or better yet, download season 1 episode 2 here to see the entire performance.

Glee Season 1 Episode 2 - Showmance

This second episode of season 1 is entitled Showmance.

Sue Sylvester punchline of the week - "You wanna be creative, you wanna be in the spotlight. Face it! You wanna be me.". This marked the official start of her being adversaries with Will Scheuster as Glee club coach a.k.a. Cheerios' budget slasher to-be.

This week, Mr. Scheu is letting the kids perform during the school Assembly. He wants them to get a disco number but gets contested by everyone in the team with a more modern song. Scheu isn't bended by any of them, however. He is convinced that "everybody loves disco!" and that it's gonna make the club look cool thereby encouraging more of them to have new members.

Do the kids get to perform the number they want? Or will Mr. Scheu's will be done? Download the full episode to find out!

Glee Season 1 Episode 1 - Pilot

The first half minute of the episode shows the Cheerios in their rehearsal stunts and Sue Sylvester's first of many punch lines - "You think this is hard? Try being waterboarder, that's hard!". It closes with the Journey song that the Glee cast popularized - Don't Stop Believing.

Being a starter episode, this also acquaints us with each character:

Will Scheuster, the Spanish teacher and Glee Club coach.

Sue Sylvester, the notorious cheerleading coach.

Rachel Berry, the ambitious Glee club member who cared too much about living her high school life to the fullest by being popular.

Finn Hudson, the charming quarterback who is being coveted by all girls (and, well..a few boys).

Quinn Fabray, the head cheerleader who was also Finn's girlfriend.

Artie Abrams, the nerd in a wheelchair with a cool singing voice.

Tina Cohen-Chang, the goth girl who pretends to stammer.

Noah 'Puck' Puckerman, the all-time school bully who could actually sing and is charming when he isn't being such a bully.

Santana Lopez, the hot latina cheerleader who could sing

Brittany Pierce, the cheerleader whom anybody could label as the dumb blond. One could easily say she's the best dancer in the show.

Ken Tanaka, the football coach who is in love with the school guidance counselor.

Emma Pilsbury, the school guidance counselor who is in love with Will Scheuster.

Terry Scheuster, Will's sorta crazy wife. Or crazy-in-love wife.

Figgins, the school principal who cares too much about budgeting the school's financial resources more than anything.

Okay, so much for the introduction of characters. I don't wanna give any more spoilers than I already have. Download Season 1 Episode 1 from the links below here and see for yourself.
